Peppermint Forest

Another Confession......marketing works! I've heard a lot of tv ads for a place on the south side of Charlotte, in Pineville actually, called Peppermint Forest. Well, I've been "dying" to check them out because it is suppose to have loads of Christmas decor. And guess what? It does. *** Happy Dance! ***

Warning.....we are about to embark (Duke word) on an enormous amount of eye candy!

Let's take a look, shall we?

Now they didn't have many trees! ;O)

A lovely traditional tree.

And stuff...

The sweet elf is waving at you guys!

Well, Santamaker did say to bring on the elves!

I think they need to decorate a few more trees, don't you?!

I have a thing for angels too...

I'll have a b-lue Christmas.....

I told you they didn't have any trees!

And these cute little pillows were under a tree.

This one was my favorite of all the trees!

Dang....and I forgot to get those plaid ornaments hanging there on that round thing...guess I'll have to go back. ;O)

And for my beachy side.....loved the top of this one...looks kind of like my hair in the mornings (seriously!) while I'm reading your blogs!

I'm thinking I like the blue stuff. Hubby, not so much. Maybe he just doesn't like the shade of blue!

And one of my favorite ornaments...Santa in the car.

And there were even trees for Mr. Tardevil, Kristen & myself! I was shocked that the Duke tree had fewer ornaments than the Carolina tree. There is something WrONg with that picture! I thought the UNC ornaments would be SOLD OUT!!! HELLO????

My favorite vignette! These are sooooooooooo my colors!

I love the color of this Santa, but I was good. I hate being good. Ok, maybe not hate, but I don't like it very much...I sound like a spoiled kid...I know...hmmmm.

And you know I have a thing for the big guy! Love this pillow!

And I loved this Santa (except he needs to be on Weight Watchers, like myself!). He didn't quite make it home with me though....but not to worry....I didn't come home empty handed!

Oh no...I shouldn't have taken his picture...I'm thinking I made a mistake, and he needs adopting...by me! It was probably the pressure from bringing along Mr. Tardevil! (that's what happens when his golf lesson is canceled....but he gets an A+ for being patient! LOL!)

And Raxx, I took this one because she reminded me of you!

Now, I'm sure by now, you've all heard of Mark Robert's fairies. I'm pretty certain this is the one he did to honor his mother, who died of breast cancer. He donates a portion of the profit from the sale of this one to breast cancer research, so keep that in mind this holiday season. He also makes some for other charities such as Make-a-Wish Foundation, etc.

This little snowman made the cut. Wonder where he'll end up?.....hmmmm.

There's something I actually don't collect...Fontanini. But not to worry, there's still time, right? Actually, I'm thinking when T.K. is old enough, I will start her a collection, so she will have it for her family, should she have one.

A few more nativity items...

By the way, if you've never toured Carrie's carola nativity gallery, please go over and take a look. If that won't get you in the spirit of Christmas, well...

Hang in there, we're almost done....

I hope you've enjoyed shopping around with me a little today! And a special "thank you" to Barbara, my hostess, throughout the store. She was a dear! If you're ever passing through Charlotte, Peppermint Forest is just off of I-485, a small hop off of I-77, so stop by and take a look! I know you won't leave empty-handed...trust me on that!

Hi sweet Tar, I can't believe how elegant Christmas decorations are today...I just told my DH, our old collection looks so juvenile....
mostly because I decorated to please my grandson, but now that he's 13....oh-oh! Hugs, ;-) Bo

Thanks for stopping by my blog and saying hello. Did you show your DD the photos of SinterKlaas and Zwarte Piet? I hope she liked seeing them. It is always a fun time of year. He gives the children their presents on the eve of Dec. 5th.

What a dangerous shop to visit. Did you take anything home? I am trying not to rush the season and will not think Christmas just yet. It is not easy when you see blog entries like this. :)

So much to see! Thanks for all the great pictures you shared. I especially liked the second nativity set, and I wouldn't even know where to begin with my favorite tree! They were all beautiful in their own unique way.

Many sweet blessings!

WOWSER!! Man those trees were awesome - I went to the Pottery this weekend and they had all their Christmas stuff out. I bought a couple of things. I liked the way KristenB did that chandy decor on that one house and I bought some ornaments to do on mine in my DR.
Anyway, loved your pics - thanks for sharing. I'm ready to get my stuff down and start decorating!!

Well, another beautiful tour in a Christmas store, I will never tire of them. Maybe this is why I have
6 Christmas Trees in my house. I can't resist anything Christmas. Good thing it only last one month out of the year. Otherwise, I would be living under a bridge somewhere. LOL

Hugs,
Chris

Good morning, Tar...Thanks for coming by my place this morning.
I love all this fabulous eye candy you have for us here...I am so ready to put my little tree up but will wait until the day after Thanksgiving...
I try to buy just one new orny each Christmas and last year, I bought my first (and only) Mark Robert fairy...he is so cute! I hope to buy another this year, if Social Security will let me!!Buying gifts for 11 grandkids puts a hugh dent in our SS budget!!

I have a friend that is working on my desktop and am hoping he will have it up and running by tonight...he has just about built me a new one...and I, too, am having trouble with my router..I have to keep unpluging and pluging in the power source before I can get connected to the internet..what a pain!
Take care...bj

Hey Tar - I used to get migraines about 5-6 times a month that lasted for a couple of days - they were awful. I would have to go to bed in a very dark room and just lay there. My old doc had me hooked on pain killers for about a year - you can't imagine what all I was taking!! Went to a new doc and started taking 200 mg of Topomax everyday - 100 in the a.m. and 100 in the p.m. and I rarely get a headache now and one of the side affects is weight loss - go figure!! I am so glad I switched docs - he's a little quirky, but I love him! Just FYI in case you're interested.

My Oh My, What gorgeous Christmas Candy I just saw!!! Thanks for sharing the inspiration. Nancy

Lynette said...

My first doc had me on Topomax for a while and I was the same way, funny vision, metallic taste, etc., but no weight loss. Second doc asked me to try it again and said that when patients got on Topomax for a second time, the side affects were not the same, and for me, that was the case, but had the weight loss, which was not a big deal, I wanted my head to quit hurting!! Didn't have the funny vision or metallic taste and lost weight. I do take the Maxalt at the onset, but they are so rare now, I hardly have to take Maxalt.
Hope this makes sense!!

What a fun shop you found. I'm thinking I really liked the poinsettia tree. Maybe I'll need to consider Fonta...whatever for my nativity set that I still need...

Loved shopping w/ you ...I save lots of money that way! LOL

OOOHHHH! I'll have to call my sister-in-law, she lives in Charlotte, and plan a trip! Love the little guy you brought home. He would look adorable on my daughter's tree. Thanks for the comments on my blog. I'll have to post a pic of my daughter in her halloween costume-she was a tarheel cheerleader!

My mom bought the tree from Garden Ridge. It's prelit with pink corded lights-which is WONDERFUL- I hate putting on lights! My mom bought a plain white felt tree skirt and decorated it with felt ornaments she cut out and designed herself, then tied little ribbons at the top-she's very creative. I'm sorry to hear that your daughter's been sick. It makes everything twice as hard when you've had no sleep. I would love to meet up with the Triangle bloggers- who is your friend from Mount Olive?

First off, I love your blog and I am certain it was on my blog list, so I am putting it back now (some glitch in the matrix!)

What a compliment that doll looks like me!

I want to shop there! I love your purchases! I could spend a day there, I love Christmas and decorating for it! Off to read more of your posts I missed!
