Happy Thanksgiving!

Isn't funny the things we remember? I remember being in first grade & learning the
"5 Fat Turkeys Song". I bet ya'll don't know that one do you? It goes something like this:
5 fat turkeys are we-e
We sat all night in a tree-e
When the cook came around
We couldn't be found
So that's why we're here you see!
Now think about T-H-A-T while you're gobbling down old Tom! :O)

Ode to Thanksgiving

'Twas the night of Thanksgiving,
But I just couldn't sleep
I tried counting backwards, I tried counting sheep.
The leftovers beckoned -
The dark meat and white
But I fought the temptation
With all of my might.
Tossing and turning with anticipation
The thought of a snack became infatuation.
So, I raced to the kitchen, flung open the door
And gazed at the fridge, full of goodies galore.
I gobbled up turkey and buttered potatoes,
Pickles and carrots, beans and tomatoes.
I felt myself swelling so plump and so round,
'Til all of a sudden, I rose off the ground.
I crashed through the ceiling, floating into the sky
With a mouthful of pudding and a handful of pie.
But, I managed to yell as I soared past the trees....
Happy eating to all - Pass the cranberries, please.
May your stuffing be tasty,
May your turkey be plump.
May your potatoes 'n gravy
Have nary a lump,
May your yams be delicious
May your pies take the prize,
May your Thanksgiving dinner ...
Stay off of your thighs.
Now what happened to Big Bird?

And finally, on a serious note, I'm very thankful for all the friends I have met from far & wide during my 2 months of blogging. I've never really had a close friend that enjoys decorating, or thrifting, or any of the things we share, other than my mom, and she no longer lives near me. But, you guys go with me places every time I post, and I always enjoy your sweet comments. I also enjoy getting inspiration from you, seeing places I'll never go in person, getting new recipes, and many laughs and friendships. So for that, my sweet blogging buds, I am thankful! May you all be blessed beyond measure! I hope you will all have a wonderful weekend with your family.

Have a great Turkey Day everyone! And rest up for Black Friday! :O) We have a lot to do tomorrow! LOL!

Hey Tar - Hope you had a great turkey day and a wonderful time shopping!! Mom and Meghan went shopping - I stayed home and decorated. I tried that BF thing one year at 4:30 in the morning and there were just way to many crazy women out there for me - my mom being one of them!! LOL I told her I would never do that again - and I never have. Meghan and I did have to go out for a little while today, but we just ran in and out and then had to go to the grocery store - she loves those nasty Raman noodles - yuck - and she needed a couple of other snack foods for her dorm, plus the leftovers she's bringing back with her!!
Anyway, making the rounds saying hi to everyone. She's watching some "shoot-em-up" movie on TV and I'm NOT!!
