Dickens Christmas Show - Part 2

So, today I'm going to show you a few more things from the Dickens Christmas Show in Myrtle Beach. I took this photo because it reminded me of Stephanie at Angelic Accents. The little snowlady wasn't for sale, but the ladies in the booth said there is a lady at the Christmas show in Pigeon Forge, TN that do-das up snowmen for all different professions. This one appeared to be a hairdresser because she had a mirror and make-up brushes, and was totally bad to the bone...a member of the Pink Hat Society, I believe! I know some of you crafty ladies could make one similar.

Now on to the gingerbread house display...

I'm so in awe of people who can do this...what patience! T.K. & I tried to do one of those kits one year, and it didn't turn out too well.
And this looks like one of the waterfront beach McMansions down there.

Ok, this is not good....I'm getting hungry...I wonder why!?

This one looks kind of like a hurricane might have blown through the backyard!

This is a little cutie!

and this...

I'm not sure about their fund-raising efforts, but for the floral arrangements, wreaths (which I didn't take photos of), and the trees, you could bid to support animal adoption, autism or various other community organizations. Here's a sample of some of the floral arrangements. Not all of them met my "champagne taste requirements", but these passed!

I loved this vase.

This one won best of show (but I thought some of the others were nicer!).

And how do you fit all that into this skinny candlestick? Go figure!

Now, this one was my favorite arrangement. I couldn't bid on it or the trees (to be seen later) because you had to be there at the end of the show to claim the item...and I had to hit the road.

I'm hoping I can re-create it. I don't think it would take a brain surgeon, and it would look yummo in my house-o!
A nice centerpiece

This was pretty, but a tad blurry for some reason (operator error, perhaps?)!

Thought this was awesome...and I could even copy it! Very Pottery Barn, huh?

That woodsy theme seems big this year. I love the peacock feathers.

And finally, a topiary.

Hope you enjoyed the tour!

uMMM, what a WONDERFUL post today. I enjoyed every single minute of it. Thanks so much.
You will really enjoy the Christmas Open House put on by Boo Mama (her button on my sidebar, just click it and you will go there) It was fabulous last year...a lot of people posted their Christmas house on the specified day (2/15 this yr) and it was soooooo hard not to post something BEFORE then. I just did little bits and pieces of my decorating but, of course, wanted to say most of it for THE day.
I know you'll love it...
love, bj

Hi sweet Tar...Haha...that little gingerbread "shack" that looked like a hurricane hit it reminded me of my one & only attempt at making those from a kit too. I always like to see the the gingerbread mansion the White House chef makes on TV..Have a Happy Thanksgiving! ♥ Bo ♥

Wow! Those gingerbread houses were AMAZING...I wouldn't even know where to start. I'll stick with my crafting. Thanks for stopping by my blog and leaving me such a nice comment, and compliment. Girlfriend, I wish I was 23...HAH! Add 3 or 4 or 9 years to that! I guess my photography skills are improving. That self portrait only took 87 tries to get a half way decent shot. I was seriously ready to hurt myself. Come back and visit me anytime! Nice to meet you.

p.s. Your comment about being "straight" really cracked me up!

The Dickens Christmas show looks like so much fun! I've alwasy wanted to make an elaborate gingerbread house but haven't. The grands & I make little gingerbread houses out of graham crackers but that's not the same. My daughter suggested that I make one for Valentine's or Halloween when it's not so hectic.

Thanks for putting me on the post @ Eddie Ross. I kept getting visitors from theer & finally checked it out & saw your comment. Thank you Tar...that was so sweet of you! I hope you have a wonderful Thanksgiving!

Now, Tar, you should have gotten that PINK snowlady for me ~ she had my name on it ~ Glitz & Glam! She is just darling!

You know, I LOVE the candlestick decor ~ the one with the gold, & your fav, too. That aqua blue is my new fav color. I'll tell ya what, you show me yours & I'll show you mine if we make those! Okay?

I've got a girlfriend whose husband makes first-place gingerbread houses each yr. He's got one that he's been working on since August!
