Shock & Awe

So, I went to the post office early in the week last week because my nephew's birthday was coming up, and he lives out of state, so I was mailing him a gift card, which costs more to mail than the usual $o.42. I keep a Ziploc bag of stamps, as a result of the never-ending rate increases, to use when mailing something costs more than the current rate. Like a lot of people, I'm not a big fan of the postal service. I have had to go in to talk to my former postmaster because of their constantly losing my mail when I lived in Raleigh. Then when I moved to SC, they forwarded a 1099 so late that it caused us to have to re-file our income taxes, and don't think for a minute that they paid the penalty!

So, when I saw an envelope in the mail with my local post office's address in the return address section....I immediately thought "GREAT....what bill have they torn up now?!"

WELL......imagine my surprise when I get this envelope in the mail the day after my trip in.
(My address has been covered to protect my identity). I had actually left some stamps on the postal desk, and the agent looked back on the envelope I had mailed, and took my address off and mailed them to me. Can you believe that? (Sorry the photos aren't the best quality...I'm in a hurry!)

Now, do you think I believe in miracles? As my T.K. use to say....AB-SO-LOOTSY!

Now that's service!!! How about that for some SHOCK & AWE??? Needless to say, I went back in to personally thank him!

Hi, just strolling by and found your blog. I've enjoyed peeking at your previous post.
It's always a nice surprise when the post office and others go the extra mile.

Sweet Wishes,
Sara

That was so sweet, really. Nice to hear. I actually like our post office, but it's only because of the numerous self service machines -- they rock!

Hey there "Sista" I finally listed your fabulous site on my blog...I need to come take a lesson from you on blogging for sure. I am always out of the home now working and it is hard for me to keep up wiith my blogging. However, I am learning to manage my time a little better (after 8 years of being a stay at home Mom) I need a facelift on my blog and website and have that in my future goals.

Hope all is well and I'll keep in touch.

Warm Wishes,
T

Neat post! Thanks for stopping by my blog and for the kind comment! I found my acorns a couple of weeks ago at Pier One, for around $3.50 for the large acorn and $2.50 for the small one. It was weird, cause it was the only "fall" thing that wasn't Halloweenish, that was marked down. I really have enjoyed them!

Wonderful to see our "taxes" being used for the people instead of some polician...

Have a great day!

What a great story!! Nice to know there a still nice people out there! I go to the branch in downtown Raleigh and it is awful, although I manage to go at lunch when they are the busiest and only have one window open! I guess I am a glutton for punishment!!
Talk with you later.
