3rd I WONDER WEDNESDAY

Again, thank you for joining me for our 3rd addition of I WONDER WEDNESDAY! I'm so happy you decided to stop by and visit!

I should probably admit that I think some of my "I WONDERS" are a direct result of boredom. Such is probably the case in the incidence below...

So, once while on a trip, we were on country roads, and we passed a field of cows. It was just hubby and myself, and it started something like this...

Did you EVER wonder why cows have spots WHERE they do? (I've already told you he doesn't care much for my "I WONDERS"...and amazingly, he's never wondered that, as hard as it is to believe!)

Now, I don't confine this question to just cows, because if you think about it why do dogs and cats have spots where they do too? And what about us, why our our moles where they are. Does God have a paint brush in the womb that he uses to DECORATE US?

MAYBE, JUST MAYBE, EVEN GOD IS A DECORATOR! I mean, after all, I believe he created this beautiful Earth. Is there really any of us that could be better decorators than him? I really think NOT! I would not want to be up against him on HGTV's Design Star, would you?

If you have some insight into my I WONDER, feel free to leave me a comment and share your thoughts. I hope to learn a thing or two (or 3!) Also, be sure to stop by Bo at Blinks 'N Winks From Brown Eyes and Kristen at Something About Nothing, because they are wondering something today too!

If you can help provide some answers, do leave a comment! I think I speak for them when I say we'd love to hear from you!

Join us again next week for I WONDER WEDNESDAY!

You're right...I'm sure it would be no contest if he was on RMS!

The "spots" we all have help make us who we are...even if we don't like our spots they are usually unique to us and we should be proud to wear them.

Oh Tar...your wonder machine is a one-of-a-kind model...LOL...and that makes you WONDER-ful! I've always wanted to draw a line from freckle to freckle on some people to see what kind of picture it would make...you know, like dot to dot...I WONDER why they wouldn't go for that? Hugs, ♥ Bo

LOL ... you are too funny! Well, if you think about it - Belted Galloway cows look like Oreo cookies with a white band around their middles. Those bands are always in their middles and never around their necks or rear. Very interesting indeed! I don't know about genes and how they work, but I'm sure they are involved. lol

Some of our baby cows have the same markings as their Mommy cows.

I can only imagine your husband's expression when you WONDERED out loud. lol

Good question??? Why do cows, dog, etc. have spots??

I looked on the internet and this is what and this is what WIKI had to say "This is merely the type of fur it has. Like most mammals cows fur varies. It is entirely based on the cows genetics. They have spots because their parents had spots or maybe the cows parents were different breeds and the resulting mixture was spotted fur." That didn't help me much, but maybe just maybe it might help you.

Good question! It's probably originally had to do with survival and cammo and all that - think of a fawn's coloring - it hides them from predators until they are old enough to fend for themselves. I think my cat's stripes and colors are so she fades into my couch and you can't see the fur lol! Kathy

It's blog like yours that make blogging so much fun.

I have been laughing to myself (again).

What a question, I can honestly say I have never ever wondered why cows or dogs have spots where they do. I will ask my father, he good at knowing these things.

Look forward to hearing why,...

Your mind works in strange ways sometimes, Tar! ;o)

You're not going to believe this but yesterday, I finally make it by Pier 1 & nope, not a bell jar in sight! :o(

I, of course, make a run to GW since I am out & about & they had a HUGE glass candle thingie (you've seen me use them as cloches) ... almost the exact shape & size of my broken one. I paid $3 for it, brought it home & glued a vintage mini-glass doorknob on top of it. I love it soooo much more than my old one! I was going to do a post on it soon to show you.

LOL I'm wondering what you were drinking when you started wondering about cow spots...and what about cows with no spots...do you think they're jealous of the spotted ones...or are they considered the pretty ones because they have smooth skin????

I think God left the mixer running longer on those without spots. Those with spots must didn't mix quite as long. ;-)

Tar, I have no idea! But I always marvel at the stripes, spots, hair, color of animals. God is definitely an artist! :-)
