Lord, hear my prayer....please!

Yesterday was one of those days when I could just feel the pull of my credit card magnet trying to attract me to all kinds of stuff! I had a little over an hour to spend on another shopportunity, so I ran into Target to pick up a gift card for my nephew. I hadn't been in there in a while (2-3 weeks), and had seen a blog with some nice autumn orange pillows from there, so I thought I'd take a look to see if they had some in silk. Well, wouldn't you know....I HAD TO WALK down by the dish aisle....Now, I haven't picked out blue dishes since the 1980s...you see my china (both formal & everyday) was blue & pink floral....Please ladies, if you have daughters or family members, tell them to pick a neutral pattern when they register...not a floral!!! Nobody told that to my friends or I at the time...and now, I've got myself a problem!

Sorry for the tangent....

So, I'm a confessed dish junkie!!! Lord, please help me to resist!!! Target had the most lovely blue & white dishes with these blue mother-of-pearl & silvery chargers....though pricey, they are killer!!! See....
The chargers......BEAUTIFUL!!!
They also had a cool red & white pattern for the holidays. Dee-lish!!!

And they could even be mixed for July 4th!!!

And for my beachy side, they had these awesome aqua plates for not much dinero...a good thing. These are called Pistachio, but if I've picked the right ones, they looked sea glass aqua in the store.
And I'm likin' these too....
Help! Can you hear a sista crying for an intervention???

Now mind you, I have already been eyeing these over at Pottery Barn, but I do hate to pay full price, so I'm trying to be patient....which I'm sooooo not!!! But, they're so cool for Halloween!
So Lord, please help me fight the pull cuz I have to stop STIMALATIN!!! And it's OH SO HARD for Tardevil to be good!!! :O( And I'm running out of storage room....Maybe if I cook more, and eat out less, it will justify some of them??? Hmmmmm.........Now, don't get me started on what was at Pier 1!!!

Haha...I'm right there with you on loving those dishes! I'm a nut for them but not so much to eat from (read cooking) but to just look at...Have you been to Susan's Tablescape Tuesday yet? She's at http://betweennapsontheporch.blogspot.com/...that would give you a REASON to justify buying them...LOL
Happy weekend & have a good trip. ;-) Bo

I share your desire for dishes. I've resisted for years but now that I'm finally debt free, watch out! I may just finally kick down and get me a Christmas/holiday set.

I followed you here from Miss V' fabulous halloween bash.

If your head is spinning from all of the spells at the various parties, swing by my place for some brain tonic and three witches brew. Vincent Price is waiting to read you a story. Do stop by!

Happy {early} Halloween!

So hard to resist! You asked where I got all of my plates for my mosaics. I pick them up at estate sales, thrift stores, antique stores and at auctions!

I'm a dish nut too. Aren't they all pretty?
I really love the fallish ones at the end.
You're not too far from the outlets in Easley SC - you should see if Pottery Barn outlet has them.

Me again :-)
I am actually going to La Riserva tomorrow night for dinner with friends for the first time. We have been to the other two many times. There are some great restaurants here in Hendersonville.

Oh my goodness those orange dishes are gorgeous...my food would taste better served on those things. Sigh, I am resisting the credit card magnet, too, dang it.

Sadly, we just found out tonight the La Riserva has closed! It was announced in todays paper. We had reservations for 6 people tomorrow and they never even called to tell us! We were having dinner at another restaurant tonight and the waitress told us. Then the couple we were with said that they had read that in the paper this morning. Bummer!

But there are still several great restaurants here. We are going to Flight tomorrow night instead. The link to Flight is:

I love those red and white dishes! I haven't seen those before. Now I want 'em.

That Halloween cartoon with the foreclosed "haunted houses" is so funny, but so true. Sounds like things are bad in your neighborhood with the builder going under and everything. Sorry to hear that.

We've got lots of "for sale" signs in our neighborhood that have been there for over a year and more pop up every day. Nothing ever sells. I feel so sorry for people trying to sell their homes these days!

Thanks for stopping by my blog. I'm always happy to meet someone else as hooked on houses as I am! :-)

You are too funny about dishes & stim U lating the economy! But I sure see myself, just bought 2 sets of dishes, sorta hiding them, not enough storage space or I am hiding them from hubby? LOL!
That idea of the window film is perfect. My daughter's been after me to do that for last 3 years. I think I'll get an estimate.

I love your home, beautiful ideas. If you decorate this much for Halloween, I can't wait to see what you do for Christmas!
xoxo!

I am so glad you finally left a comment on my blog. I did not know who you we're and when I saw that a 'tardevil' was following me I freaked out a bit. See my best friend
'Lady Jane' had a blog by a different name when she started out but someone violated her by taking all her info. and made another blog with it with vile, pornagraphic, God hating stuff. Terrible. So she shut down for a while and then started back up as private. Anywho...by your name I thought you might be one of those bad guys lurking about my blog. Now I know who you are and the meaning behind your blog name! And how relieved I was to find that you are a friend of God. Maybe you would concider combining you & hubby to 'Blueheel'...as to not alarm anyone else...hee hee.

Well, thank you for visiting Sea Cottage...Those dishes are so pretty from Target...I hear you... Target gets all the money in my wallet, weekly, sigh.
