An Announcement...

As those of you that read my blog may know, I had a birthday last month. Several of you, asked in your comments, my age. Well, I turned 43 years old. I tell you that because 2 weeks ago today, I was called by my OB's office and told that my blood work indicated that I was PREGNANT! S.C.R.E.A.M.!!! I thought the nurse was going to tell me that I was starting menopause. Imagine my surprise. I haven't had a child in almost 10 years.

So, that explains why I haven't been feeling so swell. I hope that also tells you why I haven't been visiting or posting as much. I probably won't post as much as I once did, but I still hope to find time to visit. I never intended my blog to be about my family, although I include that from time to time. I started it more to be about my hobby (thrifting, home decorating, and antiquing). As you might imagine, after the shock wore off, we have had a lot to consider and for which to prepare...and not that long to do it! I'm due sometime in early to mid-September.

I hope you will understand, and still keep in touch, even though I may not be around quite as much as I once did. Please keep us in your thoughts and prayers, we could use it! :O)

Oh my gosh Tar that is awesome news!

Did you know I'm also 43?
I can imagine you are surprised.
You know in Hollywood they are having babies at age 50even. It seems all women wait until they are over 40to have babies in that town. LOL!

My sister Michele (36) also just found out she is pregnant with number 2!
She is due October 23rd.
A complete shock and a blessing since it took them 4 years of fertility treatments to conceive baby Noah.
He's just 16 months old.
We are all still pinching ourselves in my family!

Something wonderful is in the air with new and unexpected babies it seems.

Keep us posted!
I am so thrilled for you.
~Melissa :)

SO excited for you! My mother was born to my grandmother when she was in her mid 40's back in the 1920's. She went to the doctor and said she thought she was going through "the change" and didn't feel good. After the doctor examined her he said, "Well, you are in for a change, just not the one you thought!"
Congratulations! What a blessing and joy!!! :D Jewel PS. Go Heels!

Well you knocked my socks off. Congratulations. Both of my grandmothers had babies in their 40's and I can tell you those babies were soooo loved. They both thought they were in menopause too. I am sure after the shock you are pleased and excited. I will hold you and your family in my prayers as you prepare to have your life turned upside down. BIG SMILE. I will pray that all goes well with your pregnancy. Please remember that your blogging friends love you and will be faithful as always. Are you kidding, we will be looking forward to your posts like crazy. When you feel up to posting, great. Otherwise do what all new pregnant mothers do. Sleep.

Happiness abounds...Love...Jeanne

Congrats on the baby! I will most definitely keep you in my thoughts. I just came across your blog, and I was so excited to find a fellow Tarheel!! I think it's hysterical that you're married to a Dookie (he must be reallllly upset about the NCAA tournament). What a wonderful blog you have! Can't wait to keep reading more!

Woh, God bless you. I am happy for you! I kind of know what that is like and it is shocking but wonderful!

I am here visiting from The Feathered Nest. I saw your comment there and the UNC symbol and I had to stop by. We are transplants from NC, living in Utah. My husband graduated from UNC-Chapel Hill in 1996. I miss the place considerably.

Don't know where Lake Norman is, but it sounds like it would be pretty.

Take care and get rest!

What a lovely surprise! Wow!

I am so happy for you and your family and for your precious surprise!:-) !!!
I wish you a healthy and easy pregnancy and you and your sweet blessing will be in my prayers. Truly a gift from God who will add so much joy to your life.
I am very thrilled for you. We have another grandchild due September 10th. Congratulations!

I came by to thank you for your sweet comments and hope your sinus infection is finally gone! I am sorry you have also suffered for so long.
We are planning a quick trip to NC in May around the outer banks. Would you stay in Virginia Beach ocean front or in Elizabeth City, NC? We are staying at a Marriot and those are our choices. We have never been to NC but we have been to Virginia Beach. Our destination was Nags Head or Kitty Hawk.
Are there places around there which are a must see for history or pleasure?
Your news made my day!
Take care of you and baby,

Beth

I came over to congratulate you on the national championship but I guess there is something else to congratulate you on. I'm 44 and thought I was pregnant last month as I missed for three months but nope I'm not it was stress. My last child came when I was 40. I always thought I was the only old mom around. I've finding out that is not true.
I wish you the best.
