Crushing

Sorry Mick (Jagger), I've moved on! Maybe I'm stuck in the 80's, or perhaps even the 90's, and this is going to date-stamp me, but that's a risk I'm willing to take! I know I'm a 40-something Mama Queen, and happily married, by the way, but I think I'm still crushing on
and maybe even
Gaaaaahhhhhh...couldn't you just listen to them sing to you all day? I know my D.H. has got to go with what God gave him, but he just can't sing like that...not a lick...not that I can do much better! But, just think how sexy would it be to have a husband that could sing like John Bon Jovi or Edwin McCain! Do their wives really know how lucky they are? I guess they're my Elvis!

When I left Myrtle Beach, after the holidays, they flashed Edwin McCain's name on a sign advertising the House of Blues. What timing? I'd been there 6 days, and had not seen it advertised once before, but I'm leaving and....I couldn't even look to see if he was going to be there the night I left - I'm sure he WAS...my luck! He has 2 kids now....I know he needed me to help put food on his table, for Heaven's sake! :O) Not that I think Edwin McCain is that hot, but I did use to heart his long, CLEAN hair (which I've heard he's since cut)! Now John, that's another story! (he's STILL HOT!!!, can I get an AMEN?)

And they're both married, and I'm pretty sure they're not crushing on me (I know - "YA THINK?")!!! (BUT, I'm over here @ Confessions, if you ever want to stop by and tell me THAT YOU ARE, I'll be right here!) And they both have brains (because I've heard them both being interviewed), and that's sexy too (the brain part)! Just think, a guy with a brain (that works) and HE CAN SING! OH MY GOODNESS!!! Does it get any better?
And that's all I've got to say about that! I think...

Now, back to reality. I think at least one of them and myself support differing political parties, so it probably wouldn't have worked anyway. And I can live with that!

So, I've resolved myself to just keep them on my playlist, that way, I can still enjoy the gifts God gave them! Hopefully, you will too! ;O) Is anyone else excited that American Idol begins again on Tuesday? WOO HOO!

** To those who left me comments on how Amelia told me to resolve spacing issues in blogger, go to my profile, and e-mail me, and I will tell you how to correct it. If I leave you the answer to it as a comment in blogger, you won't be able to see the code because it does what it's suppose to do, and leaves a space.

Ohh..for me, that cute George Stephanopoulos is the Thinking Woman's Hunk. I don't care if he can't sing, but that would be a plus. I guess, Tar, when it comes to hunkiness, you just have to ignore political leanings! lol...Debbie

Mine was always Robert Plant (I know I'm dating myself) To this day I'm not sure if it was him or his hair I coveted - and dang it he STILL has that hair! Kathy

Tardevil, I have been trying to get to you for a long time. Your links when you leave me a message go nowhere. I am coming to you from Bo. Please fix your link before I go mad. LOL. Smiling Big!!!

I love your crush post. Your humor is a fun read. I do love the singers you mentioned as well. However, Mick isn't looking so good these days. He is getting old like the rest of his fans. (excluding you Tardevil, you are still a youngster)LOL.

I am very excited about IDOL coming. I really love that show. I am still sad that little David did not win last year. I also think David Cook is great though.

Come see me please I have missed you.

Hugs...Jeanne

I love Idol, too and have actually got my husband hooked as well. It is one of those times when we actually watch the same thing together!

OK - my total crush was Steve Perry from Journey - everytime ANYTHING from them comes on the radio even today I just go a little nutso!! And, I can't leave out John Cougar Mellencamp, even though, like prof en retrait says, you just have to ignore their political leanings when you're crushing on them!!
Great post!!

You are too funny.
I have to admit - Jon has a place in my 80's soul too.
I also happen to love, love, love Paul Walker. (the blond guy from The Fast & The Furious & some other things). His looks just melt my heart.

Hey Debbie...I used to work across the hall from George years ago. He's very focused and intense, and just as hunky in person. Here's one of my posts where I talked about working with him: http://antiqueornot.blogspot.com/2008/12/christmas-gifts-that-keep-on-giving.html.

Oh, and I'm definitely looking forward to American Idol starting up again!

Ummm I hate to admit it...but I switched my nights at work just so I could watch the first night of American Idol. My hubby kindly reminded me that I have a TIVO...but I told him it's just not the same as watching it live...stupid I know...BUT IT'S THE FIRST SHOW OF THE SEASON lol. And yes...Jon is HOT

LOL. You aren't right! And yes, I am thrilled that AI is coming back on. David and I get addicted to it each season. We are grateful for Tivo!

Bon Jovi is a nice looking man and has aged nicely. :o) I think the two of you would have made a nice couple -- little blonde children running around.

I think I have to agree with you about Jon Bon Jovi... Here's my problem though... Why does he still look as good as he did when we were in high school? I look 46 and even though he is in our age (maybe even older gasp) he looks incredible??? It's just not right!

As far as the "leanings" go I turn them off when they aren't singing. Then it doesn't spoil the crush for me. I never watch the awards shows anymore for that reason. : )

You might be okay in a politically mixed relationship. I mean you are "tardevil". That is a mixed relationship, too. ;-)

Go Devils!!!

I need to follow up on your NC and SC blogroll. You won't be having us wear that other shade of blue shirts or anything, will you?

So I was looking through Gollum's Blog Roll when that picture of Jon Bon Jovi stopped me in my tracks! Join the club...I am crushing on him too!

I have been since about 1985, though! I think he has aged a lot better than I have :-)

I agree with some of your other commenters: I love Steve Perry, George Stephanopolos!!!

Great Post....

A big AMEN!! Somehow, I missed Jon in the 80's, only to rediscover him in his Blaze of Glory video!! Have you seen it, Tar?!?!

My major crush has always been Peter Noone, Herman of Herman's Hermits! When everyone else was obsessing over the Beatles, who I love, I was dreaming of wholesome little Peter. I finally got to meet him in person due to my little daughter who chased him backstage in Ft. Worth! Hmmm, that might make for a fun blog post.....

Big TX Hugs,
